  • Staff Account Information: To provide access to secure staff areas, we use Firebase Authentication. This service processes your login credentials (email and password). Your email is used as a unique identifier for your account.
  • Legal Research History: When you use the "Court AIssistant" feature, your search queries, the AI-generated responses, and the cited sources are saved to our Firestore database. This data is associated with your user account to allow you to view your own history.
  • Map and Court Data: Edits made to the Sheriffdom Map and court directory details are saved in our Firestore database. These changes are logged to maintain the integrity of the application data.
  • Usage Data: The App does not employ third-party analytics trackers. All usage is considered internal operational activity.

3. How We Use Your Data

Data is used strictly for the following internal operational purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and secure your access to the App.
  • To enable functionality, such as saving your research history for your own reference.
  • To allow authorized staff to manage and update court and geographical data within the App.
  • To ensure the security and integrity of the App and its data.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

As an internal tool, we do not share any data collected by the App with external third parties. All data resides within our managed Firebase project and is accessed only for the operational purposes stated above.

5. Data Security

We use Firebase, a Google Cloud service, to host our application and database. Security is managed through Firebase Security Rules, which restrict data access. For example, your research history is only readable by you. Access to the staff sections of the App requires authentication.

6. Data Retention

User account information is retained as long as you are an active staff member requiring access to the App. Research history is retained to provide a historical log for users. Data may be periodically reviewed and archived according to internal data management policies.

7. Your Rights

As this is an internal staff tool, data processing is based on the legitimate interest of our organization to provide necessary work tools. If you have questions about your data, wish to have it corrected, or have it deleted, please contact the IT department.
